Jade Ganigar Mahadumrongkul developed her passion for knitting back in 2021. During the pandemic, while being stuck at home in Bangkok, she taught herself to knit through a series of youtube tutorials. From crocheting to embroidery, she became extremely familiar with yarn work and taught herself to do it all. Eventually, all the pieces she made started to fill up her bedroom. Because of this, it led her to start her own business. Her intention was not to make money, but rather, to share her knitwear with the world. This became the birth of @knitwear.byj .
She would spend her weekends in her bedroom, photographing her handcrafted pieces and listing them on instagram. At just 15 years old, she launched her first collection, which consisted of 30 pieces, all of which sold within the span of 10 minutes. Since then, her pieces have been sold at two stores in Bangkok, appeared in music videos and photoshoots, reaching millions of profiles. @knitwear.byj started it all for Jade. From a small hobby, it became such a huge part of Jade’s life. It paved the way towards many opportunities and taught her to connect with people and grow her creative mind. Its benefits inspired Jade to do more, to help the local community with her knowledge and platform. This became the start of ‘Knit to Cure’.
